In Pakistan, every year more than 10,000 people die due to non availability of blood. It was necessary to make a platform so that everyone who needs the blood can get the blood in no time. VUsolutions Blood Donors Bank is here to serve you.

VUsolutions Blood Donors Bank, a project of the VUsolutions. This is for those people who need blood.

We included more than 150 important cities of Pakistan, also from Azad Jammu and Kashmir and have MashaALLAH more than 5000 donors.

Our Vision
VUsolutions Blood Donors Bank (VBDB) is a forum of volunteers. Our aim is to motivate people towards blood donation and to provide an online platform all over the Pakistan, so that people can easily manage the required blood from Online Blood Bank.

Mission Statement
Our mission is to work as a bridge between the needy person and a volunteer donor, to save someone’s life. Volunteers will register themselves in our online donors repository, so that people could search the apropriate donor nearest to them. Mainly this online donors repository may be used in the hospitals of all the cities of Pakistan.

Before Donating:

Before you donate blood, please familiarize yourself with the following guidelines to ensure a successful and pleasant donation experience.

What You Should Know Prior to Donating
There is more than one type of blood donation. You have some choices about how to make a difference in life!

  • Whole blood donation - you donate a pint of whole blood which can be used either whole or separated into blood components. The actual donation takes about 15 minutes.
  • Apheresis donation - you donate a specific blood component, such as red blood cells. More red blood cells can be donated at one time by apheresis than by a whole blood donation. The apheresis donation is done using a machine which separates out the desired blood component. An apheresis donation may take up to an hour, so come ready to read or relax!

What You Should Do Prior To Donating
 
  • Drink plenty of fluids and have a good meal before you donate.
  • Review the donor requirements andd verify that you are indeed eligible to donate at this time.
  • If you are a 17 or 18 year-old high school student, you must have cosult a doctor fefore donating blood.


What You Should Eat Before Donating
A healthy diet helps ensure a successful blood donation, and also makes you feel better! Check out the following recommended foods to eat prior to your donation.
  • Drink plenty of fluids.
  • Low fat foods
  • Iron rich foods.


Basic Requirements
 
Basic requirements are:
  • Be in generally good health and feeling well.
  • Weigh at least 110 pounds
  • Be 17 years of age up to 85
  • There may be additional requirements for some automated donations


Donation Frequency

  • Whole blood donors may donate every 56 days
  • Platelet donors may donate every 48 hours (donors are scheduled every two weeks)
  • Plasma donors may donate every 4 weeks
  • Double red cell apheresis donors may donate every 112 days

DO NOT DONATE BLOOD IF YOU:
 
  • Have AIDS or have ever had a positive HIV test
  • Have any of the following conditions that can be signs or symptoms of HIV/AIDS:
    • Unexplained weight loss or night sweats
    • Blue or purple spots in your mouth or skin
    • Swollen lymph nodes for more than one month
    • White spots or unusual sores in your mouth
    • Cough that won't go away or shortness of breath
    • Diarrhea that won't go away
    • Fever of more than 100.5° F for more than 10 days
  • Have ever used needles to take drugs, steroids, or anything not prescribed by your doctor
  • Are a male who has had sexual contact with another male, even once, since 1977
  • Have ever taken money, drugs, or other payment for sex since 1977
  • Have hemophilia or another blood clotting disorder and received clotting factor concentrate
  • Have had sexual contact in the past 12 months with anyone described above
